Teeth Whitening

Over time, teeth can darken, turn yellow, or easily show stains for a variety of reasons. Most commonly, discolored teeth are the result of lifestyle choices like smoking or drinking coffee, tea, or wine very frequently. Teeth whitening is one of the simplest dental treatments to restore beauty and youthfulness to your smile. Either in-office or at-home teeth whitening can brighten your teeth up to eight shades.

Benefits of Teeth Whitening

  • Fast
  • Painless
  • Convenient
  • Long lasting
  • Natural looking
  • Improves most types of stains

In-Office Teeth Whitening

In-office teeth whitening has the advantage of immediate, full results in just one office visit. Dr. Chung uses GLO Science, which is a new teeth whitening technology that does not use a harsh laser light and therefore does not dehydrate your teeth. The device is a flexible circuit that molds to your teeth after the bleaching gel is applied. The device activates the whitening gel in eight-minute intervals. Dr. Chung will inspect your teeth between each interval to gauge the whitening progress and to make sure you are comfortable.

At-Home Teeth Whitening

Dr. Chung also offers the convenient option of take-home teeth whitening treatments, also through the GLO. Once the medical-grade bleaching agent is applied to the teeth, the bleaching agent works over a period of 32 minutes to noticeably whiten the teeth. Most patients can see noticeable or full results after only two weeks.

The In-Office whitening includes an At-Home kit for you to maintain your bright smile in the comfort of your own home.

Patients should note that teeth whitening will not be effective on dental work such as crowns, veneers, and fillings. Tooth discoloration caused by medications or tooth injury will also not be receptive to teeth whitening.
