There are many different dental treatments that can be used to improve your smile. Some of the more popular treatments include Invisalign® to straighten teeth, teeth whitening to improve their color, and dental implants for tooth restoration. If you have teeth that are misshapen or severely discolored, Dr. Chung may recommend porcelain veneers for your dental treatment. Veneers can resolve certain cosmetic dental concerns to give you a more natural and beautiful smile.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that can be cemented to your teeth to hide cosmetic defects. They are most often used by Dr. Chung to restore teeth that are severely misshapen or discolored beyond the point that teeth whitening treatments could help. To attach a veneer to a tooth, the dentist will first shave off some of the natural tooth enamel and then take an impression of the tooth. This impression will be used to fabricate a veneer that will perfectly fit the tooth. The patient will be sent home with a temporary veneer and will return for a second dental appointment. At this second appointment, the customized veneer will be bonded to the patient’s tooth. A single veneer or several veneers may be placed at the same time.
What Can Veneers Do for Your Smile?
Veneers can help you achieve a natural, balanced, and aesthetically pleasing smile. In situations where other dental treatments would not be ideal or would be insufficient, veneers can be the appropriate resolution. Teeth that are naturally misshapen or small can be disguised with veneers to improve the beauty and function of your smile. With veneers, you can avoid a life with permanently discolored teeth and instead have a white, natural-looking smile. Veneers are tinted to match the precise shade of your surrounding teeth, meaning they will blend naturally and seamlessly with the rest of your smile. Veneers are a permanent solution that can correct multiple cosmetic dental problems and restore an attractive smile.
